At the kennel, the phone could record a whelping and add puppies, but not move a litter along or fix a data-entry mistake. You had to wait until you were in front of the website. Not any more.
What changes for you
- The litter cycle. On the litter screen, a "Litter cycle" section offers the steps allowed from where the litter stands: pregnancy confirmed, litter lost, weaning started, litter closed — and "Undo the confirmation" if the pregnancy was confirmed by mistake. Each step is dated today, and you can change the date.
- Correct the dates (owner). A mating or whelping date entered wrongly can be corrected; the due date recomputes itself. If the whelping moves and the litter has puppies, you can shift their birth times by the same number of days — and puppies already added to the kennel take the new birth date.
- Delete an empty litter (owner), created by mistake.
- Correct a puppy: its collar, sex, birth weight, name, coat, birth order.
- Read and correct its care entries: "Care history" shows a puppy's history; tapping an entry corrects it. "Remove the reminder" turns off the "due" pill of a care that's done.
What others see
Everything you do here is the kennel's litter: after the sync, other members see the same step, the same dates, the same corrected puppy — on their phone as on the website. A corrected whelping date changes the puppies' age for everyone, and the birth date of the dogs that came from them.
What it doesn't do
- A puppy's birth time can't be corrected on the phone; it stays a website gesture.
- Care reminders don't move when you correct the whelping: shifting them would assume a veterinary intent no data records. They're left for you to check by hand.
- A litter with puppies can't be deleted: it would take their weighings and care records with it.
- Nothing goes back, except a pregnancy confirmed by mistake.
Choices made against the obvious
- Steps work offline, date corrections don't. A step only touches the litter: it goes out with the next sync. Correcting a whelping also rewrites the birth date of dogs already in the kennel, which is only written online — the screen tells you so rather than promising what it can't keep.
- The "Shift the puppies too" switch only shows when it changes something: with no puppy, or if the whelping doesn't move, there is nothing to shift.
- "Delete the litter" disappears with the first puppy, instead of staying greyed out: a button you can't tap explains nothing.
- A departed or deceased puppy stays correctable: its record must stay right, even if it's gone.
