Until now, a coach only wrote an instruction under a session MushMate had planned. Distance, duration, day and intensity stayed out of their hands. A three-block session took about twenty fields and nine clicks, without ever showing what the athlete had actually done.
What changes for the coach
- The week in seven columns. Each session shows its rig, its distance or duration, its intensity and the profile of its steps; under each day, what was done. Tap a session, set it (distance or duration, rig, surface, intensity, dogs, note), save: the athlete sees it at once.
- Your template sessions. “Save as template”, then, on another day, “Place” — or drag the template onto the day. “Copy to the next week” takes the whole week, steps included.
- The follow-up. At the top of each athlete's page: what needs an action from you (an unanswered feedback, an injury, a week without a session, a plan barely followed), four figures, planned and done over eight weeks, the dogs, and the whole health logbook, read-only. “My athletes” is sorted in the same order.
What the athlete sees, and what they don't
On their plan page, the athlete reads “Held by your coach” — with the coach's name only if their profile is verified and listed in the directory; otherwise, never an identifier. They see the coach's sessions and steps, as before. They do not see the coach's templates or the “to do” sorting: that is the coach's working tool, not a shared dashboard.
What it does not do
- An instruction alone does not take over the plan: only a changed session does.
- The coach writes nothing in the health logbook: they read it, whole, and that is all.
- The coach's phone does not have these screens yet: they come next. The athlete gets everything on their phone today.
The choices we made, and why
- When the coach changes a session, MushMate stays quiet. The generator proposes no new version for that goal: otherwise an automatic proposal could have undone the coach's work without anyone noticing. The athlete keeps the last word: “Adjusted by MushMate” hands the plan back to the generator.
- There is nothing to “publish”. Every save goes to the athlete right away. A draft the coach forgot to send was a lost week for the athlete.
- One Pro account. Vet, experienced musher or coach: it is the service the athlete chose — an accompaniment — that opens these actions, not the profile label.
