In the morning you build the team in the app and forget to take out a dog that stays at the kennel. You leave. Two kilometres in, you notice and take it off on the team screen. Back home, you want to fix the run: that dog did not run. Until now, the app refused.

What changes for you

You can remove that dog after the run, on the phone (reopen the run, "Correct the team") and on the web (the run's page). Before saving, the app asks: "Remove Rex from this run?". If you confirm, the dog did not run at all: its load for this run disappears, and the other dogs' loads are recomputed, since the towed weight is now shared by fewer dogs.

It disappears from the drawings too. The line diagram, the per-dog lanes and the "dropped at km 2" note no longer show it. The "dog dropped without a reason" reminder stops asking about it as well.

What the app does not do

It does not guess. Taking a dog off along the way can mean two things: it was dropped (it ran up to there) or it was there by mistake (it never ran). The recorded trace is the same in both cases. So you answer. A dog that was genuinely dropped, keep it: it only counts up to the kilometre where you took it off, as before.

It does not erase the trace. The team history recorded during the run stays intact; it is read through the corrected team.

It asks nothing for a mistake at the start. If you did not touch the team along the way, removing a dog remains an ordinary correction, with no question.

A decision taken against the obvious

At first we chose the opposite: a dog the trace shows on the line ran, so removing it is refused. It was logical, and it was wrong for your case — the only way out was deleting the run, GPS trace included. You are the only one who knows what happened on the trail; the app now asks instead of deciding for you.

On the phone, the fix comes with the next version of the app. On the web, it is available now.
