Your weigh-ins, body-condition scores and outings have been piling up for seasons. The new Compare tab, in the Kennel section (and in the "⋯" menu of the Dogs screen on the phone), finally puts them side by side.
What you see
Pick a measure — weight, body condition, chronic load or km per month — then an axis. By age, each dog is lined up on its birth: you read your dogs' weight at 18 months, even if they were born three years apart. By date, they are all at the same moment: where were your dogs in January?
Up to four dogs in colour, the rest of the pack in grey behind them, for context. Under the curves, the whole pack's ranking at the reference point you choose.
Puppy weigh-ins from your litters count: the curve of a puppy kept "In kennel" from its litter starts in its first weeks.
What others see, and what they don't
Every member of the kennel, whatever their role, sees the tab and reads the pack's weigh-ins, body-condition scores, load and kilometres, as elsewhere in MushMate. The comparison's settings live in the address: you can send it to a teammate, and it only opens for a member of the kennel. Nothing leaves: no public page, no club ranking. A deceased dog stays hidden if your kennel hides them, and loaned-out or former dogs only appear when you tick "Former dogs".
What it doesn't do
It doesn't judge. No "too heavy", no "behind": MushMate has no reference curve for sled dogs, and won't invent one.
It doesn't invent values either. A weigh-in counts if it falls within fifteen days of the reference point, before or after. Between two close weigh-ins, less than three months apart, the weight is estimated and marked "est." Beyond that, the cell says "no measurement". A dog that arrived before you used MushMate has no early weigh-ins: at young ages you will see many empty cells. That is the truth of your data, not a fault.
Body condition is never estimated: between a 4 and a 6, a "5" would be a score nobody gave.
It doesn't compare withers height yet: MushMate records none, so there is nothing to put side by side — that "yet" is a true one, and height will join the list the day it can be entered. A retired dog, on the other hand, stays at the kennel (tick "Former dogs" to see it): its retirement date is not a departure, and its values remain readable at any age.
Two choices we made
Four dogs in colour, no more. Beyond that, we couldn't find colours you can reliably tell apart on crossing curves. And your dogs don't wear their usual colour here: we measured that palette, and it doesn't separate overlapping curves. A colour stays with a dog as long as it's selected, and its name is always written next to it.
A month without an outing counts zero kilometres, but a month before your first outing says "no data". MushMate knows nothing of what happened before you.
Chronic load only covers the last twelve months: that is what MushMate keeps. On the phone it also needs a network connection: the app only keeps two weeks of it.
