A canicross coach's plan is not only about the dog. On Tuesday it says "strength 30 min"; on Thursday, "club session"; on Saturday, an outing with the dog, and the rest of the week is yours alone. Until now MushMate only had room for the dog's session: the rest stayed in your messages.
It now has its place, alongside.
What changes
Under the dog's week, a section "For you, this week":
- One note per day, as text: what you do that day without the dog.
- The word of the week: the sentence your coach puts at the top of the message.
Two ways to write it:
- "Write": the seven days and the word, each in its own field.
- "Paste the week's text": paste your coach's message as is. Each day named at the start of a line — "Monday: …", "Lundi : …", "J3 - …" — becomes that day's note; whatever comes before the first day becomes the word of the week. A preview shows the result before saving. If a note was already written for one of those days, MushMate says so ("Replaces: …") and waits for you to tick the box before replacing it. A day the text does not name keeps its note.
On the day, the home page shows both of the day's sessions: the one with the dog (or "Rest"), and your note. On the website, under "Next session"; on the phone, on the day's session card.
The phone does all of this too, from the Objective screen: read, write, paste.
Who sees it
The week is read by every member of your kennel, like the plan. Only the kennel owner writes it. Nothing leaves the kennel.
Do not write health information there: it is free text, which MushMate protects no more than the rest of the plan. The field reminds you.
What it does not do
- Only in canicross, skijoring, bikejoring and scooter — the sports where you produce the effort. A sled plan does not have this section.
- Nothing is structured for you. No exercise library, no interval session, no load or fitness computed for the person, no health data. It is text, and MushMate does not read it.
- Pasting does not touch the dog's sessions. "Saturday: 40 min outing with Koda" becomes Saturday's note; you place the dog's session in the plan as before.
- The phone writes online only. Offline, it shows the last week it read, and refuses to write rather than queue your text.
- A day is written at the start of a line. "See you Monday at the club" stays a sentence of the word of the week: a day counts when it is followed by ":", "-" or a line break.
- The expert who accompanies you cannot write it yet. That comes next.
Two choices made against the obvious
The note does not live in the plan. We could have stored it with the dog's sessions. But regenerating a plan writes a new one: your notes would have disappeared at every regeneration. They are attached to your objective and to their date, and outlive the plan they accompany.
Pasting replaces nothing without you. The simplest gesture would have been to overwrite the week with the pasted text. A coach's message that only mentions Tuesday would then have erased your Monday. Only the days named are written, and an existing note waits for your confirmation.
