Which way for which source

Your outings are in…The simplest wayWhat comes in
MushMate (recorded on the phone)Nothing to doEverything: track, stops, dogs, load
StravaSettings › Integrations › Connect StravaThe session and its track, visible to you only (Strava's rule)
Garmin ConnectOne GPX file per outing, from the Garmin websiteThe session and its track, visible to the kennel
adidas RunningYour account export (a .zip archive)Your whole history, tracks included, visible to the kennel

A GPX file comes in two ways:

  • One outing: in the manual entry, "Prefill from a GPX file". On the phone as on the web.
  • Several outings or an archive: Traces › Import outings (owner and handler). Tick the outings, pick the team for the batch, and import. Up to 200 files and 100 MB per batch.

Files are read on your device and never uploaded. MushMate only sends the computed session.

Garmin Connect

Garmin exports nothing from the Garmin Connect phone app: exporting happens on the website, from a computer or the phone's browser.

  1. Open connect.garmin.com and sign in.
  2. Open Activities, then the outing to import.
  3. Tap the gear icon, top right, then Export to GPX.
  4. Import the file. Repeat for each outing: Garmin does not export several outings as GPX at once.

Good to know:

  • Do not use "Export File": it returns the watch's original file, in FIT format, inside an archive. MushMate does not read FIT.
  • The full Garmin account export (Garmin Account › Data Management › Export Your Data) only holds FIT files: it does not help here.
  • An outing without GPS (treadmill, indoors) has no track.
  • Does your watch sync with Strava? The Strava connection brings its outings in too, with no file to export.

adidas Running

adidas Running no longer exports one outing at a time. Request the export of your whole account:

  1. On a computer, open runtastic.com and sign in with your adidas Running account.
  2. Open Account & Data, then Export Data. Confirm your email address if asked.
  3. Wait for adidas's email: depending on the size of your account, it can take several days.
  4. Download the .zip archive.
  5. In MushMate, Traces › Import outings, pick the archive as it is. MushMate finds the tracks (the "Sport-sessions › GPS-data" folder) and ignores the rest.

Good to know:

  • If the "Account & Data" menu no longer exists, ask adidas for a copy of your data from its Contact page: it is your right (GDPR).
  • Only outings recorded with GPS have a track.
  • MushMate computes distance, moving time, stops and elevation itself, as for any GPX file: figures may differ slightly from adidas's.

Strava

The simplest: Settings › Integrations › Connect Strava, then "Review and import activities". A session imported from Strava is visible to you only: that is Strava's rule.

To import a file instead (the session is then visible to the kennel), exporting happens on strava.com, not in the app:

  • One outing: open it, … menu, then Export GPX.
  • Your whole account: Settings › My Account › Download your account › Get Started › Request download. The email arrives within a few hours. In the archive, only files ending in .gpx can be read: unzip the .gpx.gz ones first; .fit.gz and .tcx.gz cannot be read.

Never touch "Delete account" on those screens.

What does not come in

  • FIT and TCX formats, and .gz compressed files: only GPX and .zip archives of GPX can be read.
  • A file without timestamps: it is a route, not an outing. Import it as a route in Chronos.
  • Apple Health and Health Connect: measured in September 2026 on Android, neither adidas Running nor Garmin Connect writes the track of its outings there. Importing through Health Connect would only bring the distance; it is not offered.

In a batch list, an outing on the same day as an existing session, within 1 km, arrives unticked and marked "Likely duplicate": you decide.
