Your known routes
Chronos brings together the routes your kennel times regularly — a usual out-and-back, a training loop, the course of a race you're preparing for. The left column lists them under "Known routes" with their distance and discipline; clicking one shows it on the right. A route imported as GPX (see below) carries its real map at the top of its card; a route entered by hand has no recorded track, so its card shows no map — just its name, distance, discipline and surface.
Registering a route
The "+ Course" button, owner-only, offers a choice between two ways to register a route:
- Enter — name, distance (km), elevation gain (optional), discipline (Mid-distance or Long — a distance category, not the sport you practise) and surface (On foot, Dryland, Snow). No track is recorded, so the route's card gets no map.
- Import a GPX — by file or by URL (for example a visugpx export link), with an optional name — taken from the file if you leave it blank — then the same discipline and surface. Distance isn't entered: it's computed from the imported track, which becomes the map you see on the route's card and in the record hero.
A route registered here, imported or entered, also shows up in Traces, under the "Imported" folder for a GPX import. With no route registered yet, a handler or any other role sees only: "The kennel owner needs to create a course first."
Logging a time
"+ Log a time" (the owner, or the handler) opens a form: the route (preselected to the one on screen), the date, the finish time — accepted as mm:ss or hh:mm:ss for a longer distance —, free-text conditions and an optional RPE from 1 to 10. Your times on the route then show below, newest first, with average speed and conditions when they were noted.
Your record and the community comparison
From your first logged time, a dark hero card shows your record (★) and its average speed, the route's map, then a progression chart of your times over the dates — the fastest at the top, your record circled. With only one logged time, that chart has no trajectory to show yet, and the hero falls back to "Will appear after your first logged time."
Below that, "Best times on this course" compares public times from other kennels — rank, kennel, time, speed and gap to the leader, your own row marked "· you". This leaderboard only exists for a Mid-distance route; a Long route shows "Leaderboards are unavailable for long-distance routes" instead. Without having turned on "Public leaderboard" in Settings yourself, a message invites you to, so your kennel appears there too. That same setting also drives the product's other leaderboard, ranked by cumulative kilometres across every outing — reached from the "Public leaderboard →" link at the top of the page, not to be confused with this one, which compares times on ONE specific route.
On mobile
The phone mirrors the whole read side: a board lists each timed route with its record, derived speed and a trend chip (faster or slower than your earlier times there), and opening a route gives you your times plus the opt-in community leaderboard, with the same nudge if your kennel isn't listed. The owner and the handler can also log a time straight from the phone. Only registering a new route — entered or imported — stays web-only.
Going further
- The training plan — a staged race (several days) isn't tracked here: its number of days, distance per stage and mandatory rest are declared from the objective, in Plan.
- Traces and recaps — where to find an imported route among all your outings, and a race's own detailed recap.
