Create your account

MushMate runs on a single account, valid on both the web and mobile: one email address and one password work for both.

On the web, open the sign-in page and switch to the "Create account" tab; creating an account there means accepting the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. On mobile, the sign-in screen offers the same choice ("No account yet? Create an account").

Depending on configuration, an email confirmation may be required before you can continue — the screen tells you when it is; opening the link you receive picks up exactly where you left off.

Create a kennel, or join your team's

Once signed in, if you don't belong to a kennel yet, MushMate offers two ways to start:

  • Create your own kennel. A name, and a focus — Training, Breeding, or Both — which only changes what's shown afterwards: nothing is locked in, and it can be changed later in Settings. You become its owner.
  • Join a kennel your team invited you to. If a kennel owner already sent an invitation to your email address, it appears right on this same screen with a "Join the kennel" button — no need to dig up the email or the link. You can also receive an invitation link directly: sign in or create an account with the exact address the invitation was sent to, then confirm. An invitation sent to a different address is refused, with a message explaining why.

The role attached to the invitation — Owner, Handler, Vet, Viewer, or Guide — decides what you can see and change in the kennel; the owner chose it when inviting you, from Team.

On mobile, creating a kennel works the same way (name + focus) from the app's launch screen. Joining a kennel by invitation link, however, currently only works on the web: open the link you received in a browser. Once the invitation is accepted, the kennel shows up the next time you open the mobile app with the same account.

Next: your first dog

Right after creating a kennel — on the web as on mobile — MushMate opens the add-a-dog form directly. Name, birth date, baseline weight, sex, type and size are enough to get started; everything else (exact breed, experience, history, microchip…) can be added later, and on the web stays grouped under "More options" in that same form. It's never required: a "Later" button leaves the kennel empty for now, and Dogs stays available any time you're ready to add one.

One account, two apps

The web and mobile apps use the same account and show the same kennel: dogs, plan, outings and team are shared, never duplicated. Signing in on one with the email and password used on the other is enough to find everything that already exists.

In practice, each app has its own ground: mobile follows day-to-day training and records outings out on the trail, while managing the team — inviting someone, changing their role — happens on the web, under Team; that screen has no mobile equivalent yet.
